Adidas Stockholm Half Marathon
The Lowdown
The Adidas Stockholm Half Marathon is a well-established and beloved city race that has grown into one of Scandinavia’s premier road running events since its early 2000s beginnings. Held in central Stockholm, the event attracts a mix of elite athletes, serious club runners and enthusiastic fun-runners from around the world. Over the years it has become known for its reliable organization, strong international fields and scenic urban course that showcases many of Stockholm’s landmarks. The course is a fast, largely flat loop that winds through the heart of the city—passing Stockholm City Hall, sweeping along the waterfront, over iconic bridges and through the historic streets of Gamla Stan before along the green, park-lined avenues of Djurgården. Runners enjoy extended water and aid stations, clearly marked kilometer signs, electronic chip timing and a variety of pacers to help hit target times. The route’s mix of flat, speedy sections and short climbs across bridges makes it appealing to both personal-best seekers and tourists who want a memorable city-run. Atmosphere on race day is vibrant and supportive, with live bands, DJ zones and lively spectator crowds creating an energetic backdrop across multiple neighborhoods. The race village near the start and finish features expo booths, recovery zones and local food, giving participants a festival-like experience before and after the run. The Adidas Stockholm Half Marathon is held on an AIMS-certified, World Athletics-recognized course, with full chip timing and professional race services that make it a reliable choice for fast performances and an enjoyable urban running experience.
