Demi-Marathon de Sherbrooke
The Lowdown
The Demi-Marathon de Sherbrooke (branded on-course as the Demi-Marathon RBC de Sherbrooke) is one of Québec's most popular running events, organized by Club d'Athlétisme de Sherbrooke since its debut in 2012, when it won the province's race-of-the-year honors, an award it repeated in 2015. Held on the last Sunday of June, the event offers four distances, 1 km, 5 km, 10 km and the 21.1 km Half Marathon, all starting on the Jacques-Cartier Bridge before winding along roughly 85% waterside paths around Lac des Nations and the Saint-François River, through Jacques-Cartier Park, Blanchard Park and the Rock Forest sector. The Half Marathon carries about 84 meters of total elevation gain over a gently rolling loop course. RBC title-sponsors the half marathon, Le Coureur the 10K, and Les Producteurs de lait du Québec the 5K. The race holds a Sanction Argent (Silver Sanction) from the Fédération québécoise d'athlétisme and consistently ranks among Athletics Canada's top federalized events, drawing more than 2,400 finishers across all distances in 2025. Aid stations appear every 2.5 to 3 km, and finishers receive a medal, bib, free race photos and a post-race meal.
