The Lowdown

The Demi-Marathon Sun Life au Parc Jean-Drapeau is a late-October half marathon on Parc Jean-Drapeau, the island park a few minutes from downtown Montréal, with the Jean-Drapeau metro station a short walk from the site. Organized by Les Courses Thématiques and presented by Sun Life, it holds its second edition on Sunday, October 25, 2026, with the 21.1 km starting at 7:45 a.m. and a 3-hour time limit. The same morning includes 10 km, 5 km run and walk, and 1 km races for children 12 and under. Chip timing, pace bunnies for the 21.1 km, 10 km and 5 km, water and electrolytes on the course, a post-race meal, a participation medal and a technical shirt are part of the entry. The 10 km supports the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation. Entries for the 21.1 km, 10 km and both 5 km events are sold out, with no waiting list.

Entry Methods: Online registration on Race Roster.
Eligibility: Minimum ages follow Athlétisme Québec guidelines; 16+ is recommended for the 21.1 km and 14+ for the 5 km.
Walkers must walk the entire course and may not alternate with running.
Strollers and wheelchair participants start at the back.
Only service dogs are permitted on the course.
Required Documents: Proof of registration or photo ID may be requested at bib pickup.
Collecting another runner's kit needs the authorization form and a photo of their ID.
Cancellation & Refund Policy: No refunds are issued.
Bib transfers and distance changes cost $6.95 and are made online until 28 days before the event, then at bib pickup.
Optional cancellation insurance bought at registration allows a refund request up to 30 days after the event.
The race runs rain or shine, except extreme weather that could compromise safety.
