Fox Cities Marathon
The Lowdown
The Fox Cities Marathon is a USATF-certified, Boston Marathon-qualifying point-to-point marathon run every September through Wisconsin's Fox Cities region, starting in Menasha and finishing at Riverside Park in Neenah. Co-founded over three decades ago by Community First Credit Union and longtime local runner Gloria West, the race is still branded the Community First Fox Cities Marathon, presented in recent years by Miron Construction, and has returned more than $1.3 million to area nonprofits. The course is slightly rolling to mostly flat, closes after 7 hours, and anchors a full Fox Cities Marathon Weekend that also includes a relay, half marathon (with a competitive walk division), 10K, 5K, and kids' races.

Full official name is 'Community First Fox Cities Marathon Presented by Miron Construction'; canonical name kept sponsor-neutral as the widely-used common name and for slug stability, with sponsor history noted here. Community First Credit Union has been a race co-founder/partner for 30+ years; Miron Construction is a more recent presenting sponsor.
Founded roughly 33-35 years ago (circa 1991-1992) by Gloria West and Community First Credit Union CEO Maury/Maurice Dresang to unite the Fox Cities region.
2025 finisher count of 543 ranked it the 129th-131st largest U.S. marathon and 5th largest in Wisconsin per third-party marathon databases (findmymarathon.com); Boston Qualifier rate was 3.1% in 2025.
Race Weekend also includes a Marathon Relay, Half Marathon Competitive Walk division, Kids Fun Run, and Diaper Dash/Toddler Trot -- not modeled as separate distance categories here.
Course closes 7 hours after the 7:00 AM start (2:00 PM cutoff).
