Jacksonville Marathon
The Lowdown
The Jacksonville Marathon is the oldest marathon in Jacksonville, Florida, with roots tracing back to the early 1980s. Organized by 1st Place Sports and currently sponsored by Ameris Bank, the race starts and finishes at The Bolles School on San Jose Boulevard and offers Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K distances on the same morning. The course is USA Track & Field certified, flat, and shaded for roughly 85% of its distance, and it has been voted one of the fastest marathon courses in the South, making it a popular Boston Marathon qualifying (BQ) race. Marathon and Half Marathon finishers receive custom-designed medals, and all entrants get a moisture-wicking race shirt. Registration opens well in advance with tiered pricing, and packet pickup takes place at 1st Place Sports locations the Thursday and Friday before race day.
