Kelowna Wine Country Half Marathon
The Lowdown
The Kelowna Wine Country Half Marathon is the headline distance of the Kelowna Wine Country Runs, a 5K/10K/21.1K event held annually in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada, on the second Saturday of June. The point-to-point half marathon starts at Bertram Creek Park in Kelowna's Upper Mission and winds through vineyard-lined country roads before dropping onto the Mission Creek Greenway, a mostly paved path that follows the creek toward Okanagan Lake. The final kilometers run net downhill from the elevated Mission bench to the lakefront, finishing on the boardwalk at Waterfront Park in downtown Kelowna. Registration is capped at 1,800 runners across all distances to limit the event's footprint on the surrounding vineyards and greenway, and runners must reach the start by mandatory shuttle since no parking is available there. Finishers receive a medal, t-shirt, and a souvenir wine glass, then head into the post-run Wine, Beer, Cider & Music Festival at Waterfront Park, where more than 25 area wineries, cideries, and breweries pour tastings alongside live music. A virtual option lets remote participants complete the distance on their own during the event window. The event's 13th edition (2026) sold out every in-person and virtual category; the organizer has not yet published a date for the next edition, so the half marathon start shown here is projected from the race's consistent second-Saturday-of-June cadence.
