The Lowdown

Med City Marathon is an annual marathon weekend held in Rochester, Minnesota, home to the Mayo Clinic and nicknamed the "Med City." The event celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2026 and is presented by ActivePT. The race weekend includes a full marathon, a half marathon, a 20-miler, marathon and half-marathon relays, a 5K (including a Pride-edition 5K), and a kids run, alongside a health and fitness expo and a block party with live music from Midwest artists. The full marathon starts near Rochester International Airport, follows county roads through farmland and forest on a gentle downgrade, connects to the Zumbro River trail system, and finishes in downtown Rochester. The next edition is scheduled for May 15-16, 2027, with registration opening in October 2026.
