Mobile Marathon

The Mobile Marathon is a Boston Marathon-qualifying full and half marathon held every January in downtown Mobile, Alabama. Founded in 2009 as the First Light Marathon to support L'Arche Mobile, the event was renamed in 2019 to the ServisFirst Bank Mobile Marathon presented by Infirmary Health, and continues today simply as the Mobile Marathon, still benefiting the First Light Community Foundation of Mobile (formerly L'Arche Mobile Foundation). For 2027, Walters Controls is the title sponsor and Infirmary Health remains the presenting sponsor. The Marathon runs a double loop of the flat Half Marathon course on paved downtown streets, starting near Government Street and finishing at Bienville Square; the profile is largely flat with a hillier stretch through the middle miles. Race day is a Sunday in early January with mild, cool coastal weather typical of the Gulf Coast. Runners can also enter the Half Marathon, Full and Half Marathon relay teams, or the 1-mile Fun Run. In 2025, roughly 18% of Marathon finishers hit a Boston-qualifying time, and all Marathon results are forwarded to the Boston Athletic Association after the race.
