Mohawk Hudson River Marathon
The Lowdown
The Mohawk Hudson River Marathon is a point-to-point, net-downhill course that runs from Technology Drive in Schenectady to the Corning Preserve Boat Launch in downtown Albany, New York. Roughly two-thirds of the route follows the paved Mohawk-Hudson Bike-Hike Trail along the riverbank, with the remaining miles on quiet city streets. Produced by the Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners Club since the 1980s, it has become a Northeast favorite for runners chasing a Boston Marathon qualifying time, thanks to its gentle downhill profile and typically cool October weather. The Hannaford Half Marathon starts later along the same trail from Cohoes and finishes alongside the marathon in Albany. The full marathon course carries a six-hour time limit.
