The Lowdown
The New Taipei City Wan Jin Shi Marathon, founded in 1979, is Taiwan's first World Athletics Gold Label road race. Held each March along the scenic North Coast through the Wanli, Jinshan, and Shimen districts of New Taipei City, the course draws roughly 12,000 runners from dozens of countries across the marathon (42.195 km) and 10K Challenge Run distances. Hosted by the New Taipei City Government and the Chinese Taipei Athletics Association, the 2026 edition ran on March 15, 2026, with entries allocated by lottery for domestic runners while foreign runners could register directly, and the field sold out for a second consecutive year. Course records stand at 2:09:31 for men (2024) and 2:29:13 for women (2025).

Eligibility
- Marathon: 18 years and older (born 2008 or earlier)
- Challenge Run (10K): 15 years and older (born 2010 or earlier)

- Foreign entrants bypass the lottery upon registration and credit-card payment
- Guaranteed entry for runners with prior sub-4:00 (men) or sub-4:30 (women) finishes in 2023-2025
