Run the Cove Half Marathon
The Lowdown
Run the Cove Half Marathon is an annual road race in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, just outside Huntsville, held alongside a companion 10K on the same morning. The course starts on the Hays Nature Preserve Greenway and winds through the Hampton Cove neighborhoods and Flint River Greenway, passing Old Highway 431 and a tunnel under the Bailey Cove bypass before a stretch of rolling hills on the back half. The race is chip-timed with a 7:00am start and a 4-hour course time limit, and the field is capped at the first 500 registrants across both distances. Entry includes a race shirt, a finisher's medal, post-race food, and a finish-line celebration, with support from Fleet Feet Huntsville. The minimum age to enter is 12. Registration for the 2027 edition (Saturday, March 27) opens at $70 for the half marathon and $40 for the 10K, with early-bird pricing through December 2026 before the price increases in tiers ahead of race day.
