The Surf City Marathon is an annual Boston-qualifying marathon in Huntington Beach, California, run along the Pacific Coast Highway past the Huntington Beach Pier. The course is flat and scenic, with elevation ranging from about 2 to 87 feet and only one short incline (miles 3-4). Biofreeze is the event's title sponsor. The marathon starts Sunday morning alongside a half marathon and 5K, with a Saturday beach mile as part of the same race weekend; the marathon course has a 6.5-hour time limit with a rolling reopening enforced by Huntington Beach police.
