Toyama Marathon
The Lowdown
Toyama Marathon is an annual autumn marathon in Toyama Prefecture, Japan, organized by the Toyama Marathon Executive Committee under the prefectural government. The point-to-point, JAAF-certified 42.195 km course starts near Takaoka Castle Park in Takaoka City and finishes at Fugan Canal Kansui Park in Toyama City, passing through Imizu City along the way. The toughest section is the climb over Shinminato Ohashi Bridge, which rewards runners with views of Toyama Bay and the Tateyama mountain range. Entries are capped at 13,000 runners with a 7-hour time limit; finishers receive a medal, a finisher towel, and an online completion certificate, and all entrants get a commemorative t-shirt. Entry costs 14,000 JPY. Registration for the 2026 edition ran from April 11 to June 30, 2026, ahead of the November 1, 2026 race day.
