The Lowdown
The WFPS Run is a charity race weekend in Winnipeg that has run every October since 2012 and raises money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The half marathon is the headline event, alongside a 10K, a 5K and a Teeny Trot for children. All Sunday races start and finish at the Canadian Mennonite University North Campus on Shaftesbury Boulevard. The organizer describes the half marathon as a certified course through some of Winnipeg's most scenic neighbourhoods in autumn colour. The 2026 edition ran on October 18 with a staggered morning start, the half marathon at 8:00 a.m. The next edition is expected on the third Sunday of October 2027, and registration usually opens in early April. The organizer is WFPS Run Inc., which is not associated with the City of Winnipeg or the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service.
