Adelaide Marathon
The Lowdown
The Adelaide Marathon is the flagship event of the Brooks Adelaide Marathon Festival, organised by the South Australian Road Runners Club (SARRC) and held annually on a Sunday in early May. The AIMS-certified, nearly flat two-lap course starts and finishes at Bonython Park in the Adelaide Parklands, passing Adelaide Oval via War Memorial Drive, following the River Torrens and the Uniloop (a well-known local training route), and looping through Botanic Park past the Adelaide Zoo before returning to Bonython Park. Its AIMS certification makes it a recognised qualifier for major international marathons, including the Boston Marathon. The festival also includes a half marathon, 10km, and 5km, drawing thousands of runners across all distances for a community race day with pace runners, aid stations, and a finisher medal and tee for every marathon finisher. The 2026 edition sold out its marathon field ahead of race day.
