The Lowdown
The Hobart Marathon Festival is a running weekend on the Hobart waterfront, run by Atlas Events. The 2027 edition is on Sunday, 4 April 2027, with a marathon, a half marathon, a 10 km, a 5 km run, a 5 km walk and a 2 km mini marathon. The marathon starts at 6:00 am at Princes Wharf 1 on Castray Esplanade and finishes there. It is a multi-loop course along the River Derwent that passes Salamanca Place and the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Runners must be 17 or older on race day. Entry includes a 2027 shirt, chip timing, a finisher medal and aid stations, and the marathon cut-off is 6 hours 10 minutes. Entry prices rise through five releases up to 3 April 2027.
