Beneva Mississauga Marathon
The Lowdown
The Beneva Mississauga Marathon is a Boston-qualifying, point-to-point road marathon through Mississauga, Ontario, first run in 2004. A 2023 change in ownership briefly dropped the full 42.2K distance in favor of a half-marathon-only event, but Beneva became title sponsor in 2024 and restored the marathon alongside the half marathon, 10K, 5K, kids' Tims Trot and a marathon relay as one race weekend. The certified, net-downhill course loses roughly 76 meters (250 feet) of elevation from start to finish: it begins near Celebration Square in downtown Mississauga, crosses the Credit River onto tree-lined Mississauga Road, passes the University of Toronto Mississauga campus, and winds through the lakeside villages of Clarkson, Port Credit and Lakeview before finishing along the Lake Ontario waterfront trail at Lakefront Promenade Park. The race carries a six-hour time limit and typically sees several hundred marathon finishers within a weekend field of roughly 10,000 runners across all distances.
