Boilermaker Road Race 15K

The Boilermaker Road Race 15K is an annual USATF-certified road race through Utica, New York, run every second Sunday of July since 1978, with the exception of a pandemic-related pause in 2020. The name comes from the Utica Radiator Corporation, whose workers were nicknamed "boilermakers" and helped found the race near their factory. The 15K route climbs and descends about 300 feet through the city's historic Parks and Parkway district and the suburbs of New Hartford and Yorkville before finishing outside the F.X. Matt Brewery, where a post-race party awaits with the local Saranac beer. Mid-summer heat and humidity make the Boilermaker one of the more demanding 15K road races in the country, and it was the largest 15K in the United States from 1997 to 2006. The 2027 edition marks the race's 50th running.
