The Lowdown

The Erie Marathon takes place in Presque Isle State Park, with the start and finish at the Erie Runners Club Beach 1 Pavilion. Organizers describe a flat course with less than 250 feet of total elevation change, mostly asphalt with some concrete and grass beside the paved route. The all-volunteer event has a 2,000-entry cap and is identified as a Boston qualifier. Water and lemon-lime Gatorade stops are spaced about a mile apart, with nearby toilets. Runners have a 6-hour limit and may be moved to the all-purpose trail if they fall behind the supported pace. Participants and spectators park off-site and walk roughly 0.6 miles to the venue. The event offers RaceJoy tracking and pace groups. The published policy allows no refunds, deferrals or transfers.
