Hyannis Marathon

The Hyannis Marathon is an annual Boston Marathon-qualifying race held on the first Sunday of March in Hyannis, a village in the town of Barnstable on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Organized by The Fun Road Race Company, the event starts and finishes at the Cape Cod Irish Village at The Emerald Resort & Conference Center on Scudder Avenue, with four concurrent distances: the full Marathon (a flat, two-loop course under 60 feet of elevation change), a single-loop Half Marathon, a 10K, and a Marathon Team Relay run in four legs of roughly 6-7 miles each by teams of two to four. Both the Marathon and Half Marathon are USATF-certified Boston Marathon Qualifier courses, with a 10:00 AM start (9:30 AM early start available for marathoners) and a six-hour course time limit ending at 4:00 PM. A fixture of the Cape Cod racing calendar for over four decades, the race marked its 45th running on March 1, 2026, having rebuilt its field from just 51 marathon finishers in 2022 to 386 in 2025 after a 2015 weather cancellation. The event has not yet published a date or opened registration for its next edition as of August 2026; based on its consistent first-Sunday-of-March cadence, the 2027 race is projected for Sunday, March 7, 2027.
