Hyderabad Marathon
The Lowdown
The Hyderabad Marathon is one of India's largest annual road races, held each year on the last Sunday of August in Hyderabad, Telangana. Organised by the Hyderabad Runners Society, the 2-day event has grown from 1,250 participants at its inaugural 2011 edition to become the country's second-largest marathon by participation, trailing only the Mumbai Marathon. The full marathon (42.195 km) and half marathon (21.0975 km) are held on Sunday, while the 5K fun run takes place on Saturday. The course winds through the vibrant heart of Hyderabad, passing landmarks of this rapidly growing metropolis. The race holds a World Athletics Label certification and is a Boston Qualifying event. NMDC (National Mineral Development Corporation) has been the title sponsor since 2022, succeeding Airtel who backed the race for its first decade. The 2026 edition marks the 15th running of the event.
