Ibiza Marathon
The Lowdown
The Ibiza Marathon has quickly grown into one of the Balearics’ most attractive spring marathons, developed to showcase the island’s coastal beauty and relaxed Mediterranean culture. Launched as a focused destination race for runners seeking scenic routes and a friendly atmosphere, the event emphasizes strong local organization, good course logistics and an enjoyable race weekend that pairs competitive road racing with holiday vibes. Over the years it has attracted both international runners chasing spring personal bests and local athletes who appreciate a well-supported point-to-point route on mostly flat terrain. The course highlights include long stretches along the turquoise Mediterranean coast, sweeping views of beaches and pine-scented hills, and running through charming coastal towns and olive-groved countryside around Santa Eulària and Ibiza Town. Runners can expect a fast, largely flat profile with a mix of gentle coastal breezes and sunny April weather, frequent aid stations, live local music at key points and a festive finish-area atmosphere with refreshments and an island-style celebration. The course is measured to international standards and the event is AIMS-certified and recognized as a Boston Qualifier, making it suitable for athletes targeting qualifying times as well as those seeking a memorable holiday marathon experience.
