KLM Curaçao Marathon
The Lowdown
The KLM Curaçao Marathon takes place each November in Willemstad, Curaçao, with a full weekend of racing: the Cavalier Logistics 5K on Saturday evening, followed on Sunday by the HBN Law & Tax 10K, the BDO Half Marathon, and the KLM Full Marathon. Founded in 2014, the event is AIMS/World Athletics certified and serves as an Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda Age Group Qualifier. The scenic waterfront course crosses the Queen Emma pontoon bridge, nicknamed the 'swinging old lady,' and the Juliana Bridge, one of the tallest bridges in the world at 185 feet above sea level. Runners pass along Curaçao's Caribbean coastline and through the historic Punda district under warm trade winds. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has served as title sponsor since the marathon's first edition.
