The Lowdown

Les Rives du Doubs is a flat, fast 10 km road race in Besançon, organised by ASPTT Besançon Athlétisme and starting and finishing at the Stade de Velotte. The 40th edition ran on 29 March 2026. Both 10 km races carry an FFA label and count toward the French Championship qualification. Runners choose between the Populaire, which starts at 09:30 with pacers for 45, 50, 55 and 60 minutes, and the Élite for runners under 45 minutes, which starts at 11:00 with pacers from 30 to 44 minutes. The two starts share a single ranking. Entries are capped at 1,000 in the Populaire and 500 in the Élite, and both sold out for the 2026 edition. A 300 euro bonus is paid for a time under the 10 km record (29:58 men, 34:42 women). Kids' races run in the afternoon. The 2027 date is not yet announced; the race is projected for Sunday 28 March 2027 from its late-March cadence.
