Marathon d'Ajaccio

The Marathon d'Ajaccio is an annual road marathon held each spring in Ajaccio, the capital of Corsica, France's Mediterranean island. Organized by ASPTT Ajaccio Athlétisme with an FFA national label, the event is the only marathon on Corsica and traces a hilly seaside loop along the Route des Sanguinaires, with sweeping views of the Gulf of Ajaccio and the Îles Sanguinaires. The race has run on the first Sunday of April every year in recent editions (April 6, 2025; April 5, 2026), so the next edition is projected for Sunday, April 4, 2027; the official site had not yet published the exact 2027 date, fees, or program as of August 2026. The most recent (April 2026) edition paired the marathon with a semi-marathon, 10 km, and 5 km on the same morning and added a first-time Corsican running expo (Salon du Running de Corse) to the race village; that 2026 fee schedule (59/39/25/10 EUR across the four distances) is shown below pending the 2027 announcement. French entrants need a valid FFA license or medical certificate per national road-race rules, and the course, while scenic, is considered moderately demanding due to its rolling elevation profile.
