The Maratón Internacional de Mar del Plata — known as 'La Carrera del Mar' (The Race of the Sea) — is Argentina's second-most attended marathon and one of the most scenic road races in South America. The coastal course runs along the dramatic Atlantic waterfront of Mar del Plata, starting near Playa Grande and tracing the iconic coastal boulevard with the ocean as a constant companion. Part of the NB Race Series, the event offers 42K, 21K, and 10K distances and draws approximately 8,000 runners. A medical certificate is required for all participants.
