Registration Sells Out for Fifth Consecutive Year
Sep 1, 2025The 2026 Miami Marathon sold out its field of 18,500 runners for the fifth consecutive year, with registration opening on August 1, 2025. Race Co-Founder Frankie Ruiz called it 'the hottest ticket in town,' with participants from all 50 states and nearly 70 countries expected to participate.
Record International Participation in 2025 Edition
Feb 2, 2025The 2025 Miami Marathon featured 18,500 runners from 75 countries, with Colombia leading international participation with 2,456 runners. The race sold out in September 2024, continuing its growth as one of the premier marathons for Latin American runners in the United States.
Local Artist Designs 2026 Finisher Medal
Dec 9, 2025Miami artist Kat Einhorn designed the 2026 finisher medal, featuring five original works inspired by the city's colors and scenery. The ribbon includes images of sunrise over MacArthur Causeway, palm trees along Ocean Drive, the city skyline, and sailboats in Coconut Grove.

Eligibility
- Must be 18 years or older on race day
- Must be an officially registered participant and wear the assigned bib visibly on the front at all times
- Valid photo ID required for packet pickup
- No bib transfers or sharing of bibs allowed
- Participants must complete the course within the official time cutoff (6 hours 30 minutes)
- Runners must start and remain in their assigned corral based on declared pace
- Wheelchair and handcycle athletes must register in the designated division and follow division-specific rules
- No unauthorized wheeled devices, pets, or non-competitors allowed on the course
- Participants must comply with all race rules, USATF/organizer regulations, and instructions from race officials and course marshals
- Medical clearance is recommended for participants with pre-existing medical conditions; seek physician approval if uncertain

The course runs through downtown Miami, Brickell, Coconut Grove and along scenic Biscayne Bay with a mostly flat, fast route ideal for first-time marathoners and PR attempts.
The race weekend includes an official expo with packet pickup and vendors, a family-friendly Kids Run, and a pre-race pasta dinner hosted by local restaurants.
Finishers receive a custom medal and a technical finisher shirt, and the finish area features post-race food, hydration, medical tents, and a beer garden for eligible participants.
Aid stations are located approximately every 1.5–2.0 miles with water, electrolyte drink, and medical support; pacers are typically provided for common goal times.
