Neuse River Bridge Run

The Neuse River Bridge Run is an annual multi-distance road race through historic downtown New Bern, North Carolina, now in its third decade. Runners choose a Half Marathon, 10K, or 5K, all starting at Union Point Park and finishing on East Front Street in front of the Riverfront Convention Center of Craven County. The Half Marathon and 10K both cross the long span of the Neuse River Bridge, and all three in-person distances cross the George Cunningham Bridge over the Trent River, giving the event its name and its signature waterfront views. A SuperKids Fun Run for children is held the evening before the main races. The event is a community fundraiser, with proceeds split among five local nonprofits that together serve more than 100,000 residents of eastern North Carolina, including the Craven Arts Council and the YMCA. Race weekend also includes race-kit pickup at the Riverfront Convention Center and virtual-race options for runners who cannot attend in person. Streets reopen to traffic at 10:00 a.m., giving Half Marathon starters roughly three hours to finish.
