Wilmington Historic Half Marathon
The Lowdown
The Wilmington Historic Half Marathon starts and finishes at Riverfront Park in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina, alongside the 10K and 5K on the same morning. Runners cross all three of downtown Wilmington's bridges, loop past a scenic lake, and finish with more than a mile along the city's nationally ranked riverwalk boardwalk on a closed-road course through the historic district. Race Raves voted it the Best Half Marathon in North Carolina for 2024. A Challenge option lets runners combine the 5K and the Half Marathon (16.2 miles total) for extra medals, provided the 5K is finished within 45 minutes. Every finisher gets a medal and a long-sleeve shirt, and the post-race party at Riverfront Park serves complimentary beer from local breweries and barbecue from BH43 Sauces & Smoke. Packet pickup is the Friday before race day at Cape Fear Community College.
