The Lowdown
The Parktherme Wüstenlauf Half Marathon is run in Bad Radkersburg, a spa town on the Slovenian border in southern Styria. Start and finish are on the Hauptplatz, the main square. The course is a very flat loop of about 7 km that passes through the Parktherme thermal resort and out to the Liebmannsee lake before returning to the old town, and the half marathon repeats it. Two aid stations stand on the loop, at the Liebmannsee and at the Durchlauf, with another at the finish. Timing is by chip built into the bib. The main races start at 11:00 and every runner with a bib gets free entry to the Parktherme on race day. Shorter distances and children's races run on the same weekend. The 2027 edition is expected on the first Sunday of June; the organizer has not yet confirmed the date or opened registration.
