The Lowdown

The Queens 10K takes runners on a loop through Flushing Meadows Corona Park, organized by New York Road Runners (NYRR) as part of the NYRR Five-Borough Series. The race traces its roots to the Queens Half Marathon, which began in 1994; it became a 10K in 2012 and has run at that distance ever since. Citizens Bank became title sponsor in 2024, and the event now regularly sells out, drawing more than 13,000 runners for the 2026 edition. Starting and finishing near the Fountain of the Planets, the flat, fast course tours park landmarks including the Unisphere, the Queens Museum, Citi Field, and the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. A free Flushing Meadows Kids Run for ages 2-18 runs alongside the main event. The 2026 edition took place on June 20; no 2027 date has been announced yet, so this record projects the race to its typical mid-June Saturday slot. Entry is available through NYRR's 9+1 guaranteed-entry program, a non-guaranteed drawing, and the Team for Kids charity program; 2026 fees were $50 for NYRR members and $60 for non-members.
