The Urk Marathon (branded the Isoniq Urk Marathon) is a certified road marathon and half marathon held in Urk, the historic former fishing village on the IJsselmeer in the Dutch province of Flevoland. Launched in 2025 by local club Loopgroep Urk, the race starts and finishes at Urk's harbor and runs a flat, fully traffic-free, KNAU-certified loop course past the town's historic boulevard and along the Noordoostpolder dike, with views across the IJsselmeer — four 10.09 km laps for the marathon, two laps for the half marathon. Organizers set the running direction in race week based on the prevailing wind, and the repeating loops let spectators see runners pass multiple times. The sold-out inaugural 2025 edition drew more than 375 finishers and produced winning times of 2:21:35 for the men and 2:53:40 for the women. The second edition runs Saturday, October 3, 2026, with the marathon starting at 9:30 AM and the half marathon at 11:15 AM; entries are capped at 500 marathon and 200 half marathon runners, and the 2026 field sold out ahead of race day. Aid stations appear every 5 km with water, sports drink, bananas, gummy candy, and orange slices, and every finisher receives a medal and an event T-shirt.
