The Lowdown

The Utah Valley Marathon is a point-to-point downhill race that starts in Wallsburg, Utah, and finishes at the Historic Utah County Courthouse grounds in downtown Provo. The USATF-certified course descends through Provo Canyon along the Provo River, passing Bridal Veil Falls before reaching the valley floor, with a net elevation drop of 1,444 feet -- just under the Boston Marathon's 1,500-foot limit, so qualifying times count toward Boston with no penalty. Race weekend also includes a companion Half Marathon, 10K, Friday-evening 5K, and a free Kids' 1K, plus a Fitness Expo at the Utah Valley Convention Center. Fields are capped at 2,000 marathon finishers, 3,000 for the half, 1,200 for the 10K, and 1,000 for the 5K.
