Zevenheuvelenloop

The Zevenheuvelenloop is an annual 15-kilometer road race held each November in Nijmegen, in the Dutch province of Gelderland, and is widely regarded as the world's largest and fastest 15K road race. First run in 1984 with 500 participants, the event has grown into a two-day festival with a Saturday-evening 7K, the Zevenheuvelennacht, alongside the Sunday 15K. The Zevenheuvelenloop has carried several title sponsors over the years - including NN Group for more than a decade - and is branded the Garmin Zevenheuvelenloop starting with the 2026 edition under a new multi-year partnership. The 41st edition runs the weekend of Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15, 2026, with the Zevenheuvelennacht starting at 19:00 on Saturday and the main 15K starting at 13:00 on Sunday. Despite its name, the route through and around Nijmegen - known as the "city of seven hills" - climbs roughly 100 meters over rolling terrain between Nijmeegse Baan and the Zevenheuvelenweg before a gradual descent to the finish on Groesbeekseweg, yet it remains fast enough to have produced the current men's and women's world records for the 15K on the road. Registration for the 2026 15K sold out, though runners can still take over a bib during the official transfer window from October 19 through November 13.
