Alloa Half Marathon
The Lowdown
The Alloa Half Marathon is a long-running road race in Alloa, Clackmannanshire, Scotland, organized every spring by the Alloa Round Table, a local charitable group that channels the event's profits into causes across the area. The 2026 edition was the race's 42nd running and drew more than 2,300 finishers in near-perfect conditions. The course starts and finishes at Lornshill Academy, tracing long, flat stretches along the foot of the Ochil Hills before a character-building climb near the 11-mile mark. Runners have up to 3 hours to finish. All finishers receive a medal and t-shirt, and prize money is awarded to the top three men and women, plus a bonus for a new course record — the current marks stand at 64:51 for men and 73:19 for women. Entry is open to unaffiliated runners and to UK Athletics club members, who pay a discounted fee. The Alloa Half Marathon is a fixture of the Scottish spring racing calendar and a solid tune-up half marathon for runners in central Scotland.
