Paisley Half Marathon
The Lowdown
The Paisley Half Marathon is a closed-road half marathon through Paisley, Renfrewshire, just west of Glasgow in Scotland. Organized by Future Sports Events, the race held its debut edition on 22 March 2026, becoming the town's first-ever half marathon, and returns for its second edition on Sunday, 14 March 2027. The 13.1-mile course starts at 9:00 AM in County Square, opposite The Last Post pub, and heads out of the town centre through Ferguslie Park and along Linwood Road towards Elderslie, turning at Main Road before runners retrace the route back into Paisley. The closing miles return through the historic town centre along Gauze Street and High Street, finishing in the shadow of Paisley Abbey, a working church that has stood for almost 900 years. Every finisher receives a custom medal and a technical head buff, and the route is supported by chip timing, water stations at the halfway point and finish, event photography, and an Event Village with refreshments. Entries for the 2027 race are open on a tiered pricing structure that rises from an Early Access rate as the event approaches, and organizers note that spots are limited and expected to sell out. Paisley Half Marathon runs on fully closed roads through the historic heart of Renfrewshire's largest town, giving entrants a look at Paisley's Victorian architecture and the abbey that has anchored the town centre since the 12th century.
