The Lowdown
The Beer Lovers' Marathon is a costume-friendly road marathon through Liège, Belgium, run for fun rather than for times. It starts at the Palais des Congrès and has 16 aid stations, each serving water, food and a different Belgian beer, usually with a DJ or brass band. Runners get a medal, a themed shirt and cap, a belt with one reusable cup for the tastings, and access to the finish-line village with showers, massages and an after party. The field is capped at 3,000 runners and the finish line closes after 6 hours 30 minutes. The 2026 edition had a nature theme and about 2,900 registered runners, and the 2027 edition is on Sunday 16 May.
