The Lowdown

One of North America's oldest marathons, run continuously since 1963 and voted Alberta's Best Road Race multiple times. The Servus Calgary Marathon race weekend starts and finishes near Stampede Park, with the marathon and half marathon route tracing the Bow River pathways, downtown avenues, and residential neighbourhoods before finishing at Enmax Park, where a post-race festival with beer garden and awards ceremonies takes place. The course is AIMS/Athletics Canada certified, making it a Boston Marathon and World Marathon Majors qualifier. The full weekend also includes 10K and 5K road races plus kids events, and the associated Servus Charity Challenge has raised more than $10 million for local charities since 2012.
