The Lowdown
The Cape Breton Fiddlers Marathon is a mid-October road marathon in Sydney, Nova Scotia, run over a weekend that also includes a half marathon, 10K and 5K. The 2026 edition ran on Sunday 18 October, and the next one is expected on the third Sunday of October 2027. All races start and finish at Victoria Park, and the flat, paved course follows Sydney's downtown waterfront. The marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifying race, has a six-hour time limit, and race support ends at 2:00 pm. Atlantic Chip Sport Timing handles the results. The marathon and 5K count toward the Run Nova Scotia Road Race Series. A race expo with kit pickup is held at Victoria Park the afternoon before.
