The Lowdown
The Carmel Marathon is a spring road race in Carmel, Indiana, just north of Indianapolis. The marathon and half marathon start and finish north of the Palladium on City Center Drive, with the 10K and 5K sharing the same start and finish. The marathon course is flat to rolling with a few hills. It passes through Hamilton County, Carmel's parks and the Arts and Design District, and runners cross the start/finish line at the halfway point. The marathon field is capped at 3,000 runners and the course is a USATF-certified Boston qualifier. Registration fees rise in steps, with the next increase after November 8, 2026. The 2026 edition was postponed from April 18 to May 31 because of storm forecasts, after the 2025 race was canceled on race morning for weather.
