The Lowdown

Carrera Los Califas is an annual 10K road race in Córdoba, Andalusia, organized by Club Atletismo Los Califas. The certified urban circuit starts on Calle Castillo de Empúries, crosses the Puente de San Rafael over the Guadalquivir, and finishes at the El Fontanar athletics track. Now in its fourth decade, the race regularly hosts the Córdoba provincial or Andalusia regional 10K road championship and caps the field at 1,000 runners; free youth races run on the same morning at the Fontanar track. The 37th edition on April 19, 2026 sold out its full field, a new participation record, and was won by Diego Tirado (31:10) and Mónica Ortiz (37:35), both of Club Trotasierra. Part of every entry fee is donated to a local charity.

Registrations for the 2026 edition reached the race's 1,000-bib limit, the largest field in the event's history, prompting organizers to warn that entries would close early.
Apr 19, 2026: Trotasierra sweeps the 2026 podium as Diego Tirado and Mónica Ortiz win
Diego Tirado (31:10) and Mónica Ortiz (37:35), both of Club Trotasierra, won the men's and women's races at the sold-out 37th edition, which also served as the Córdoba provincial 10K road championship.

Entry Methods: Online registration via Global-Tempo once the race opens (historically late February).
Eligibility: No minimum age specified for the main 10K popular race; separate free youth categories run for children.
Required Documents: Government-issued photo ID for bib pickup for out-of-town runners
Cancellation & Refund Policy: No official 2027 cancellation/refund policy published yet; past editions' rules do not offer entry-fee refunds, standard practice for Spanish popular road races.
