The Lowdown
De Halve van Hengelo is an annual half marathon held in Hengelo, Overijssel, in the eastern Netherlands. The 2027 race, its 53rd edition, takes place on Monday, March 29, 2027 (Second Easter Day), with the 21.1 km start at 11:00 from the F.B.K. Stadium on Kuipersdijk. The Dutch Athletics Union (Atletiekunie) officially measures the 10 km, 15 km, and 21.1 km courses, which run largely through the flat, rural countryside around Twekkelo before finishing back inside the stadium. Alongside the half marathon, the event also offers 5 km and 10 km races plus shorter youth and family distances (1.5 km and a 500 m Bambino run), with aid stations every 5 km along the main course. Every finisher receives a medal, and the event supports KWF Kankerbestrijding, the Dutch cancer research charity, through participant fundraising. Online pre-registration is open through March 14, 2027, with late registration available in person at the F.B.K. Stadium on Saturday, March 27, and at Sporthal Veldwijk on race morning.
