Glass City Marathon
The Lowdown
The Glass City Marathon is Toledo, Ohio's home marathon, run since 1971 and organized by the Toledo Road Runners Club. Currently branded the Mercy Health Glass City Marathon under a title sponsorship running into 2025 and beyond, with the companion half marathon separately sponsored as the Owens Corning Half Marathon. Known as one of America's fastest Boston-qualifying courses, with organizers citing that roughly a third of finishers post BQ times and the race regularly ranks among the top 25 U.S. Boston Marathon qualifying events. The fast, flat course starts on Bancroft Street near the University of Toledo's North Tower, loops past Ottawa Park, through Ottawa Hills and the Metroparks trail system, tours Sylvania, and finishes on the field inside UToledo's Glass Bowl stadium, where finishers receive a commemorative mug made by Toledo-based Libbey Glass. Race weekend also includes a half marathon, 5-person relay, 5K, and kids run.
