Kaohsiung Fubon Marathon
The Lowdown
The Kaohsiung Fubon Marathon is southern Taiwan's largest road race, starting and finishing at the Kaohsiung National Stadium (World Games Stadium) in Zuoying District. The flat, fast course follows the scenic Love River Greenway through the heart of the city and, as a signature highlight, runs through the Zuoying Naval Base, a military facility normally closed to the public. Held every January, the weekend event draws more than 12,000 runners across a Sunday marathon and half marathon and a Saturday casual 5K and pet-friendly fun run. The race is organized by the Kaohsiung City Government Sports Development Bureau, with title sponsorship from Fubon Life Insurance in place since the early 2020s. Registration for the next edition typically opens in September, with an early-bird pricing window in the first two weeks.
