The Lowdown
Kungsbacka Loppet has been run since 1898 and bills itself as the world's oldest long-distance race held every year without a break. The half marathon starts and finishes at Stora Torget in central Kungsbacka and covers two laps on pedestrian and cycling paths through the town. The course is flat and was measured in March 2022 by federation measurer Anders Östlund. Water and sports drink are served every 5 km, and every finisher gets a medal. Runners must turn 17 during the calendar year. The 2026 edition ran on 18 April; the 2027 date and pricing are not yet published, so the date shown follows the usual mid-April spring slot.
