Marathon du Jura

The Marathon du Jura is a road marathon (42.195 km) through the Delémont valley in the Jura canton of Switzerland, following the Sorne and Scheulte rivers past the region's forested ridges. First held in 2024, the course runs on hard-surfaced (paved) roads with a rolling profile — about 343 m of elevation gain on a loop that starts and finishes at Delémont's train station. Since its second edition (2025) it has carried the title sponsorship of Valiant, a Swiss bank ("Valiant Marathon du Jura"); CHF 5 from every bib supports the Club Fauteuil Roulant Jura, a regional wheelchair-sports club, and every registered runner gets free train travel across the Jura on race day. Alongside the marathon, the event also offers a semi-marathon (21.1 km, starting from Bassecourt) and a 14 km run, and typically shares its roads with the slowUp Jura car-free cycling festival. At the 2026 (3rd) edition on June 14, Lionel Varé (2:59:38) and Julie Mouttet won the men's and women's races among 84 marathon starters, the largest field yet. The race is not currently listed as an AIMS/World Athletics-measured course. The next edition is projected for June 2027, with the exact date pending organizer confirmation.
