Marathon Poitiers-Futuroscope
The Lowdown
The Marathon Poitiers-Futuroscope is a point-to-point road marathon in western France, running from the historic center of Poitiers to the Futuroscope theme park in Chasseneuil-du-Poitou. Runners start at Place du Maréchal Leclerc in downtown Poitiers, pass historic sites including the Léon-Blum viaduct, and finish on Avenue du Futuroscope. Held annually in April, the event also offers a half marathon over the same course, a four-person relay, and free 5K and 10K fun runs under the banner Tout Poitiers Court. The 2026 edition drew a record 7,860 marathon and half marathon finishers, and more than 9,000 total participants once the shorter races for schoolchildren are counted. Every marathon and half marathon entrant receives complimentary Futuroscope park tickets, letting runners extend the weekend with a visit to one of France's most popular theme parks. The cutoff is 5 hours 30 minutes for the marathon and 2 hours 45 minutes for the half marathon. Registration for the 21st edition on April 11, 2027 is open online, with tiered pricing that rises as capacity fills.
