Maratona de Campinas

The Maratona de Campinas is the flagship annual road race of Campinas, São Paulo, co-produced by Rede VTV/SBT together with the Campinas City Hall as part of the city's July anniversary celebrations. Now in its 9th edition, the race starts and finishes on Avenida José de Souza Campos in the central Cambuí neighborhood, offering four distances: the 42K marathon, the 21K half marathon, a 14K, and a 7K. More than 2,500 athletes registered for the 2026 edition, and entries sold out well ahead of race day. Runners choose between a basic kit (race shirt and ecobag) or a premium kit that adds a wind jacket, with kit pickup held at a nearby Havan store on the two days before the race. Race weekend falls during Campinas's dry, mild winter, and the course draws mostly local runners from Campinas and its Região Metropolitana, along with a smaller contingent from elsewhere in São Paulo state. The event has grown steadily since its debut, and the 8th edition ran on July 20, 2025.
