Medio Maratón Irapuato is a half marathon held each year in Irapuato, Guanajuato, as part of the city's Feria de las Fresas (Strawberry Fair). The third edition ran on March 22, 2026, gathering more than 1,300 registered runners, plus roughly 10% more who joined on race day, including entrants from Colombia, the United States, Italy, Brazil and Kenya alongside runners from 13 Mexican states. The race starts and finishes on Andador Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz in Irapuato's historic center, with the course weaving past the city's emblematic colonial landmarks. Runners choose between 5K, 10K and the marquee 21K distance. The event is organized by the city's sports commission (Comudaj) under the municipal government, with international sanctioning from World Athletics and the Mexican federation Mundo Atletismo. In the 2026 edition, Francisco González Llamas won the men's half marathon in 1:06:57 and Gabriela Flores García took the women's title in 1:17:04. The race has run annually since its 2024 debut, always timed to the Feria de las Fresas, though the exact date has shifted from February to March year to year, so registration typically opens in January. Early-bird pricing runs a few hundred pesos below the price charged in the final weeks before race day.
