21K Chiapas Medio Maratón Internacional

The 21K Chiapas Medio Maratón Internacional is an annual point-to-point half marathon connecting Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the capital of the southern Mexican state of Chiapas, with the neighboring colonial town of Chiapa de Corzo. Organized by a committee led by Rogelio de los Santos with backing from INDEPORTE Chiapas and local municipal authorities, the race has carried World Athletics course certification since its first edition in 2022 and is recognized as one of the most important dates on Mexico's national road-racing calendar. The 2026 edition — its fifth — runs Sunday, November 22, 2026, with a simultaneous 5:50 a.m. start for all three distances: the 21K begins on the Carretera Panamericana in Tuxtla Gutiérrez's Colonia Terán and finishes, along with the shorter 5K and 10K (which start and finish in place), at the Plaza Central 'La Pila' of Chiapa de Corzo. The field is capped at roughly 2,500 runners, with open, master, veteran, and adaptive-athlete divisions sharing a combined prize purse of about 200,000 Mexican pesos; the men's course record of 1:04:15 was set by Eliud Kipkorir Kosgei in 2024 and the women's record of 1:17:02 by María de Jesús Ruiz Acuña in 2023. This event is distinct from the Medio Maratón Farrera, a separate half marathon also held in Tuxtla Gutiérrez each August with different organizers.
